Rosana G. Hull works for General Motors (GM). Rosana was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil but has lived in the Metro Detroit area since the age of six. She graduated from Osborn High School in Detroit where a high school Saturday program with the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP) at Oakland University sparked an interest in engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit. She is a first-generation college graduate. Rosana is a graduate of the Leadership Oakland Cornerstone Program:  Class XXXI, 2020-2021.

Rosana started her career with GM Saginaw Division – Detroit Plants as a co-op student in Manufacturing Engineering (ME). She held various positions and dedicated 8 years to being the Face of GM in Pontiac as the Community Relations contact from 2014-2023. In this role she created opportunities for GM employees to volunteer in the school district and community, providing over 15,000 hours GM volunteer hours just in 2020-2023.  She is now back working in manufacturing engineering providing crank and cam shaft equipment and process support.

She has personally volunteered with over 1000 young students in seven different schools and is proficient in the all the Primary, Skimmer, and Jet Toy challenges, as a Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) World in Motion (AWIM) volunteer since 2002. Rosana has received the “SAE Detroit Outstanding Service to AWIM Award for Outstanding Contribution to the SAE Detroit Chapter” in May 2013. Rosana was the AWIM Vice Chair for the SAE Detroit Chapter: K-12 Math & Science committee 2014-2018. In 2015 she received the SAE International Bill Agnew Award for Outstanding AWIM Volunteer. Rosana continues to be an SAE member and Detroit SAE board member.

Rosana has supported many local Pontiac, MI boards that promote leadership, STEM, and community involvement. These include GM Modern Housing Neighborhood Association board member 2018-2022, Pontiac READS! Visionary Council member 2020-2023, Pontiac High School NAF board member 2020-2023, Leadership Oakland board member 2022- present, Pontiac Transportation Museum Task Force member 2018-present and the ITA Initiatives Foundation 2015- present. Beside the SAE awards she has received the Pontiac Center for Success:  Hands & Feet Award 2017 and the Pontiac Regional Chamber inaugural Spirit of Pontiac Award 2023.

Rosana is married to Rick Hull, an Engineering Group Manager at General Motors for the Global Product Development team. They are the proud parents to Sofia, Gabriel, and Laura, who all have participated in AWIM for many years. The Hull family resides in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
